Researchers measured a week of wrist-monitor sleep in 82,391 UK adults and followed them for years. Those with the most regular schedules were less likely to develop dementia, and a steady rhythm seemed to offset the risk that came with sleeping too little. Because it followed people rather than assigning sleep habits, it shows a link, not proof.
