Inherited blood pressure risk tracked dementia in women only
In 9,145 Norwegians aged 70 and over, women in the top fifth for genetic blood pressure risk had higher odds of dementia. Men with the same genetics did not. Among fitter women the association was weaker.

Late dinners and skipped breakfasts tracked dementia risk
A Japanese cohort of 283,166 people aged around 73 linked two ordinary habits to later dementia: eating within two hours of bed, and missing breakfast. Both associations were modest, and neither was tested as a cause.

Falling blood pressure tracked with memory loss in women
Following 4,719 older adults for about nine years, researchers found that when blood pressure drifted down, thinking scores fell alongside it in women. In men there was no such link at all.

Swinging mood predicted dementia better than low mood
Following 11,951 older adults for up to 19 years, researchers found that fluctuating depressive symptoms predicted later cognitive impairment better than how depressed someone was at any single visit.
