A Thorax analysis of the Wisconsin Sleep Cohort followed adults for a median nine years. Visceral obesity at baseline carried seven times the odds of developing sleep apnea, and sleep apnea predicted new visceral obesity in return.

Therapy animals eased depression in older adults across 20 studies, but not loneliness
A review in the Journal of the American Medical Directors Association pooled 20 studies of live and robotic animals in older adults. Depression and thinking scores improved. Anxiety and loneliness did not move.

Exergames beat doing nothing for older adults' thinking across 51 trials, on very low certainty
A JMIR network meta-analysis ranked four kinds of digital exercise across 51 randomized trials and 3,673 older adults. Screen-based exergames helped global thinking most consistently. Remote exercise produced the only robust memory gain.
